I am a qualified pharmacist and health services researcher. My research interests lie in service delivery and organisation of care within the primary care setting, with a focus on older adults (particularly those with dementia and frailty), rational prescribing and medicines management. I am particularly interested in how pharmacists can be utilised more widely in order to meet the increasing pressures and challenges within general practice and primary care. I am experienced in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, having utilised a variety of study designs in my research to date, and my research is highly interdisciplinary. I am an experienced academic supervisor, having supervised nine PhD students to successful completion.
Potential projects
1. Non-prescription medication use in older adults
2. Optimising medication use in frail older adults
3. Intervantions to improve medicines management for people living with dementia.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate on projects where I could provide relevant research methods or pharmacy/medicines-related expertise.
