Chanel's current research focus spans nursing and midwifery education and respiratory and critical care research with a view to enhancing patient care. She is currently the principal investigator on two education-based research grants: one examining the requirements and standards for advanced practice education and another focused on evaluating practice supports for undergraduate and newly qualified nurses and midwives. She aims to strengthen clinical competence, support workforce development, and ensure that nurses and midwives are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for contemporary healthcare practice. Her research contributes to evidence-based curriculum design and the ongoing advancement of professional standards in nursing and midwifery education.
