We have a maturing national database of major trauma and out of hospital cardiac arrests on which a PhD could be built.
We are involved in clinical trials (HALT IT, CRASH 3, PEDOCELL).
We have been and would like to continue to be involved in health services research relating to patient monitoring and flow in the Emergency Department.
Capacity to perform observational and interventional studies on emergency pain management.
Have collaborations with School of Public Health at UCC and Clinical Research Facility - Cork.

Emergency care research and innovation is vital to improve the care provided to our population. There are many answerable questions in this area – whether that be in studying time critical conditions, vulnerable populations, new technologies and treatments.
