My Work

I lead a research programme in multimorbidity including recent senior authorship on a Nature Reviews Disease Primers on Multimorbidity. We are interested in designing and evaluating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of intervention to improve health outcomes, particularly for more vulnerable groups such as those with significant polypharmacy or living in disadvantaged communities. I coordinate Deep End Ireland and am also interested in Evidence Synthesis and work closely with HTA team in HIQA providing an opportunity for skill development in health technology assessment

Potential Projects

I have led the HRB Collaborative Doctoral Award in Multimorbidity and we are developing a range of interventions that can form the basis for future PhDs in areas such as medicines management, long workers providing social prescribing and exercise. I can support PhD topics that explore other areas of relevance to general practice, primary care, health equity and evidence synthesis
