My Work
My lab works on innate immunity and inflammation. Several projects are underway including Immunometabolism, inflammasomes and Toll-like receptors. We have recently demonstrated that succinate dehydrogenase plays a key role in the repurposing of mitochondria in macrophages. This event drives the inflammatory phenotype in these important cells and may be amenable to therapeutic manipulation. This work was recently published in Cell (PMID: 27667687).
