My Work

Studies in the genetics of Parkinson's disease (PD) & frontotemporal dementia; deep phenotype of differnet types of PD, biomarker discovery in neurodegenrative disease (e.g., skin sebum production & skin proteomics in PD); eye movement control (habitual vs goal-directed) & writing in various forms of Parkinson's disease, wearable devices in PD & freezing of gait; PD disability dog to improve gait

Potential Projects

1. Proteomics and histochemistry of skin in a cohort of people with PD vs atypical parkinsonism - a diagnostic test and/or biomarker for progression
2. Bone marrow transplant for hereditory leukodystrophy with spheroids aossicated with mutations in CSF1R - clincial response, MRI assessment of blood barin barrier and macrophage function pre and post transplant
3. Habitual vs Goal-directed movement control in gene-negative PD vs Parkin PD - eye movemnets and writing assessment
4.Assessment of beneift of a disability dog for PD - gait, falls, mobility, balance, fitness
5. Wearable device assessment of gait and balance in gene negative PD vs Parkin PD
6. High protein diet and exercise vs low pprotein diet and exercise in people with PD - gait, balance, falls using wearable technology
