My research focus on deciphering the link between oral and systemic health and on developing minimally invasive, biologically based therapies. The aim is to improve treatment outcomes and population oral and systemic health by employing a blended approach of clinical and laboratory- based research
1- Oral bacteria, systemic inflammation and chronic disease risk
We are interested in investigating how poor oral health increase systemic inflammation burden and subsequent risk of development of chronic diseases including cardiovascular and respiratory disease.
2- Minimal intervention strategies to manage dental caries
We aim to develop minimally invasive biologically based therapies to treat dental caries and its complications by combining cutting edge regenerative dentistry approaches and clinical trials
